Debating
“It is better to debate a question without settling it than to settle a question without debating it.” – Joseph Joubert. Debating refines one’s persuasive abilities and communication skills, it is, if nothing else, an essential and valuable skill for anyone to possess. The application of knowledge to solve a pressing issue is the crux of debating. The sport introduce our students to dire problems our society is currently facing and helps them decipher ways in which to stop or wholly eradicate these matters.
The club encourages students to solve/argue problems logically and rationally while remaining diplomatic. Students who are interested in debating participate in the inter-school Durban Coastal Debating League.
